American Dynamics Expands High-Definition IP Camera Line

New Illustra 600 Box and Bullet Cameras bring high-quality, superior low-light performance and easy installability

WESTFORD, MA – April 2, 2013 – American Dynamics, part of the Security Products business unit of Tyco (NYSE: TYC), today introduced its new Illustra 600 Series of High Definition (HD) IP Box and Bullet Cameras.

The Illustra 600 Series Box and Bullet cameras deliver exceptional HD video quality in all lighting conditions. The True Day/Night and Wide Dynamic Range features provide superior low-light performance, saving on bandwidth and storage costs. In industries such as banking, retail, aviation or any business where there are large banks of windows that cause fluctuating lighting conditions, these cameras are an ideal choice. The Illustra 600 Series Box and Bullet cameras offer 720p and 1080p resolution and are available in three different models.

The 600LT models are ideal for smaller businesses such as a bank branches, small retail outlets or physician’s offices who may only need 720p resolution. The LT models contain many of the powerful features included in the 600 models, delivering high-definition and excellent video quality with a few exceptions: no audio, SD card and dry contact inputs The LT models benefits those businesses that have 16 or fewer cameras, as well as larger businesses that don’t require full-featured HD cameras for all of their locations, providing significant cost savings.

The Illustra 600 Box cameras can be used with a variety of lenses and housings, making them a very versatile option for all types of industries and businesses of all sizes. From a small local convenience store focusing on its cash registers, to an organization with many buildings and parking lots at various distances, these cameras suit each specific security need.

The 600 and 610 bullet cameras feature remarkable one-touch auto-focus functionality which allows installers to control the lens zoom and automatically adjust the focus from the camera’s web interface – all with the click of a mouse. This remote focus capability saves the cost of a ‘truck roll’, avoiding an expensive maintenance call. The rugged weatherproof IP66 enclosure on the bullet camera stands up to any type of weather conditions.

“The new Illustra Box and Bullet cameras provide our customers with a full suite of high-definition cameras, with a variety of models geared to meet their specific needs,” stated Joel White, senior product manager, American Dynamics. “The feature sets of each of these cameras make them an all around excellent choice when time savings and cost matter to your organization’s security and bottom line.”

The Illustra 600 Box and Bullet cameras are compatible with American Dynamics VideoEdge NVRs and Hybrids, and are ONVIF-compliant, providing customers with greater flexibility in their choice of recording platforms.

These cameras are available through American Dynamics’ worldwide distribution channels.

What a Trapped Bird Teaches Us About Getting Where We Want to Go  In this excerpt of Jen Sincero's book, You Are A Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life, we too are like the birds that get caught in our houses, flying around maniacally trying to escape but can't seem to find the door that leads outside. If we just take a moment to look at things differently, we can see the door has been held open the whole time and all we have to do is go right through it. (You create your own life)

17 Career Secrets I Wish I Got On Graduation Day
With colleges sending off their educated, accomplished graduates, there can be some underlying worries in the backs of minds. I know I had one in particular: What the hell do I do now? Do You Prefer Success or Achievement?
Success and achievement go hand in hand, but why do we use success more to describe our accomplishments, and not achievement? Achievement is defined as such: something accomplished, especially by superior ability, special effort, great courage, etc. So achievement requires work, but that's what makes it worth it, right? We don't feel as happy getting the promotion, if we didn't work hard to receive it. How can we be high achievers? (5 common characteristics)

When you think you've got your job mastered, think again. That's usually when something bad happens in one's career or company. If you reach that point, and most everyone does, it's time to reevaluate everything you're doing. Go on the hunt for new technology, new ideas, rewrite your program, take a fresh look at every aspect of your department. Maybe even bring in a consultant you don't know or have ties to, someone who will challenge you and debate with you and won't be there to merely confirm what you're doing and agree with your approach. But someone who will test you and force you to grow, someone who you may even be uncomfortable with. Get out of your comfort zone and have some fun!
