CHELMSFORD, Mass. – May 8,
2013 – The Boston Business Journal has named
Axis Communications, the world leader in network video
surveillance, one of the Best Places to Work in
Massachusetts for Midsized Companies in its 11th annual
regional awards program. The honor recognizes Axis’
achievements in creating a positive work environment that
attracts and retains employees through a combination of
employee satisfaction, working conditions, benefits program
and company culture.
Axis
was one of more than 400 companies to qualify for
consideration based on a two-stage nomination process and
the results of employee-satisfaction surveys taken
throughout March and April. From the 400 nominees, 80
winning companies – the top 25 in each company size category
plus the top five in a new “PR/Communications” category –
will be presented with the annual honor during a cocktail
reception on June 13th at the iconic CitiCenter/Wang Theatre
and profiled in a special supplement of the Boston Business
Journal on June 14th.
“At Axis, we take great pride in our company culture, core
values and dedicated employees. We strive to have a
workplace environment that is both fun and challenging, and
the BBJ award is a testament to our culture – especially
since feedback came directly from our employees,” said
Fredrik Nilsson, general manager, Axis Communications, Inc.
“As Axis continues to grow here in New England and around
the world, our employees are the ones who foster the
innovative spirit that’s at the core of our mission to help
build a smarter, safer and more secure world.”
With more than a dozen positions currently open nationwide,
Axis will be hosting a
Recruiting Open House on Thursday, May 23rd from 5 to
7:30pm in its Chelmsford, Mass. office. The event, which is
open to the public, will feature a presentation on how to
“Be Your Own Recruiter” and provide attendees with the
opportunity to network with the Axis management team.
Interested candidates can also
view and apply for open positions online.
“Our Best Places to Work event will again recognize the
importance of cultivating a great workplace culture as a
competitive advantage," said Chris McIntosh, publisher of
the Boston Business Journal. "Companies on our list can be
justifiably proud of creating a high level of workplace
satisfaction during an economy where traditional rewards
like big raises and bonuses aren't as easy to give. In good
times and in bad, our results validate how the creation of
the right corporate culture can create powerful business
advantages. Employees are proud to work for companies that
are about more than just business.”
The survey project was launched in January by the Boston
Business Journal in conjunction with market research firm
Quantum Workplace of Omaha, Neb. Companies were evaluated on
the results of more than 18,000 employee-satisfaction
surveys. Employees answered questionnaires that addressed
such factors as their pride in the company, company
encouragement, support and recognition of achievement and
relationships with co-workers and supervisors. The results
were analyzed and scored by assigning points to each
question.
