Two refunders busted in Sarasota by TJ Maxx National Task
Force
Two arrests were made in an alleged swindling scheme that
appears simple, but systematic. Video surveillance shows
that Katelyn Kemp, 20, would go inside T.J. Maxx; conceal
shoes in her purse and leave. Minutes later, Kathleen Zahn,
39, would return the shoes in exchange for gift cards.
Detectives believe the women did this on at least five
occasions, possibly more, in July. An investigation was
started Aug. 15 when local authorities were contacted by the
T.J. Maxx National Task Force regarding the incidents.
