Job Overview
The safety specialist, asset protection, will
oversee safety practices within an assigned
group of stores. This position will execute the
safety program designed to minimize associate
and customer accidents.
Primary Responsibilities:

Identify the root causes of
accidents within an assigned group
of stores; develop innovative
solutions to minimize exposure;
execute appropriate safety
countermeasures. |

Participate in associate awareness
training for high accident stores,
review operational practices
relating to the execution to
minimize accident exposure. |
●
Monitor and follow-up on failing
safety audits within assigned group
of stores and partner with the asset
protection specialist, district
director, and store director to
correct deficiencies. |
●
Ensure appropriate personal
protective equipment (PPE) is
available at the store and that
departments are utilizing the
required PPE. |
●
Ensure fire alarm NFPA-72
inspections are completed, receive a
“pass”, and have documentation
available. |
Minimum Qualifications:
●
Five (5) years’ experience in retail
grocery field or equivalent. |
●
Possess a valid driver’s license
with a satisfactory driving record. |
●
Ability to travel up to 40% of the
time, including overnight. |
●
Ability to work nights, weekends and
holidays. |
●
Compliance with all company policies
and procedures. |
●
Strong leadership skills and ability
to act as a change agent educating
store, district and regional
personnel on new programs designed
to minimize inventory shrink. |
●
Excellent communication,
presentation and interpersonal
skills to effectively convey complex
and detailed information to a
diverse population. |
●
Ability to provide innovative
solutions while minimizing loss. |
●
Excellent analytical, organizational
and investigative skills. |
