Tropicana
Entertainment's
Top Security Executive to Speak at
NFSSC Conference
The National Food Service Security Council (NFSSC) is pleased to
announce that Chuck Barry, Corporate Vice President,
Security/Surveillance, Tropicana Entertainment Inc., will present at
its 34th Annual Conference, August 4-7, in Las Vegas. NFSSC is the
leading trade association for loss prevention, security and risk
management professionals in the QSR and casual dining restaurant
industry.
“Chuck is an extremely experienced security executive and we feel
very lucky to have someone with his background and security acumen
as part of our program,” said Jim Forlenza, Executive Director,
NFSSC. “The gaming industry is a unique business operation and
combines many LP and security challenges including F&B and retail,
in addition to its gaming activities. Chuck will deliver a peerless
perspective to our restaurant executives – providing an insider’s
look at gaming surveillance and security and allowing our members to
compare and contrast LP and security duties from the gaming and
restaurant industries. He will challenge our restaurant leaders to
look for new solutions.”
Chuck Barry has spent 25 years in the gaming industry, serving as
the director of investigations for Harrah's Entertainment, Inc., as
well as the vice president of internal security and surveillance for
Hilton Hotels Corporation and Park Place Entertainment. Prior to
joining Hilton Hotels, Barry was a detective with the Phoenix Police
Department and a special agent with the Federal Bureau of
Investigation.
“Being able to look outside our industry, our comfort zones, often
leads to a fresh approach to help solve difficult challenges,” said
James Brussow, CPP, Dave & Buster’s Inc., and 2013 NFSSC President.
“Chuck can help our group look at our everyday responsibilities in a
new way – from how we oversee surveillance to how we protect our
customers and employees.”
NFSSC will host its 34th Annual Conference, August 4-7, 2013, at the
M Resort Spa and Casino, in Las Vegas. The event features executive
keynotes, educational sessions and workshops, roundtables, exhibits,
scheduled practitioner/vendor meetings, and a host of entertaining
networking functions. The education program will highlight speakers
from the restaurant and loss prevention industry, presenting
real-world topics and best practices, offering a host of solutions
and insights for everyday situations.
