Angelica Rodriguez, former Sr. Director of Loss Prevention for the National Retail Federation, is now the Major Gifts Officer for the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.

Retail loss prevention partners with law enforcement like no other industry. As such, a very important bridge between the two was built when Angelica Rodriguez, NRF's former Senior Director of Loss Prevention, joined the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund on March 25th as their new Major Gifts Officer.

The Memorial Fund is dedicated to honoring and remembering the service and sacrifice of law enforcement officers in the U.S. and built/maintains the nation’s monument to law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty.

In her new role Angelica will work firsthand with corporations and individuals nationwide on their partnership with the Memorial Fund to help fund the construction of the first-ever Law Enforcement Museum. The Museum is scheduled to open in 2015 and already has some fascinating artifacts such as the DC sniper car, J. Edgar Hoover collection, the gun Al Capone was carrying when he was arrested and much more. If you wonder what she’s busy with right now, there’s no shortage – take a look into her first 90 days.

•   National Police Week (May 12-18) – Several events will occur in Washington, DC throughout the week – including the annual Candlelight Vigil at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial, the Peace Officers Memorial Day Service at the U.S. Capitol, the arrival of the Police Unity Tour and more
•   2013 Harley Davidson Raffle – the winning ticket will be drawn on May 16th during National Police Week – take a look at the Peace Officer Special Edition bike that is being raffled then call 1-877-622-BIKE (2453) to buy your ticket
•   Ride & Run to Remember (Oct 12-13) – While this is in October, Angelica is busy gaining support for this ride/run race. The race is bringing attention to officer safety nationwide. You can participate in your hometown as a ‘virtual participant’ or make a trip to Washington, DC.
•   Law Enforcement Appreciation Night – from hockey and baseball to Nascar, professional sports teams throughout the country (like the Boston Red Sox and Seattle Mariners) are signing up to support law enforcement. Check to see if there’s an event in your neighborhood and head out for a night of fun.

Get ready to see more coming from this dynamic group. If you have any questions, contact Angelica Rodriguez at 202-737-8530 or ARodriguez@nleomf.org.
