Police using Data to track patterns of thefts The Watchful Eye on Thefts
report for the week of Nov. 5-12 follows along a well-established pattern from
previous weeks of both where incidents occurred and the nature of those
incidents. For example, larcenies once again showed up en masse in the Fort
Sanders/University of Tennessee area, while crimes such as pickpocketing and
shoplifting formed patterns around the most well-trafficked shopping centers and
areas. (Source

Shoplifting parent leave 2 children behind in a Walmart store in Dallas
Police said a suspected shoplifter left behind two children at a Dallas Walmart
location on Monday. According to police reports, Monica Leann Meza stole DVDs,
cups, sweaters, shoes, cans of Starbucks coffee, and a hairbrush and then tried
to escape police in a silver Buick. Meza allegedly left behind two children -- a
3-year-old boy and a 4-year-old girl -- at the store while she fled in the
vehicle. Meza was caught in the parking lot of the Walmart after the theft and
all the items were returned to the store. (Source

Lancashire,
England shoplifter focused on paper goods; Tesco was the #1 target
When shops are targeted by thieves, it is often for expensive items which can be
easily sold on. But cops were left amazed when they discovered this incredible
haul in an alleged shoplifter's home. Bizarrely, dozens of toilet rolls and
printer paper were discovered among the huge hoard in Chorley, Lancashire. The
alleged thief was clearly a fan of Tesco, with dozens of items from the
supermarket giant pictured. The picture was tweeted today by Chorley Police, who
said its officers discovered the haul on Saturday. A 36-year-old woman has been
arrested on suspicion of shoplifting and has been bailed while enquiries
continue. (Source
