First Deployed Soldier to Obtain Certified Forensic
Interviewer (CFI) Designation Returns Home;
First Stop: Wicklander-Zulawski & Associates

Sgt. Tyler Vickers made WZ one of his first stops to show his appreciation for the educational and moral support while deployed

CHICAGO, Jan. 21, 2014 – Sergeant Tyler Vickers returns home after his second deployment as the first military personnel to achieve his Certified Forensic Interviewer (CFI) designation while deployed. The CFI designation prepares our military heroes for careers in asset protection, law enforcement, security or investigations.

CFI is the industry standard for professionals practicing the art of interviewing or interrogation and its exam has successfully received coverage under the G.I. Bill. Upon returning home, one of Vickers first stops is the Wicklander-Zulawski (WZ) offices to show his appreciation for the educational and moral support for him as well as his fellow soldiers.

“I am thrilled at the opportunity WZ has provided us,” said Sgt. Tyler Vickers. “It’s comforting to know we are supported, but WZ goes the extra mile by truly donating their time, resources and relationships to help ensure we have a smooth transition. I look forward to utilizing my new CFI designation as I build my own security and investigations company.”

Since the beginning of 2013, WZ has been sending care packages and letters to seven units totaling more than 30 soldiers, but the support doesn’t end there. WZ has provided scholarships for the CFI prep course and has begun reviewing soldiers’ resumes to help connect qualified soldiers with fulfilling civilian positions.

“We are very proud to welcome home our first active military CFI designation,” said Dave Zulawski, CFI, co-founder and senior partner of WZ. “We have the utmost respect and admiration for our active and retired military service men and women. We believe this is a small part in giving back for a fraction of what their service means to us as individuals but also our country.”

The troops that successfully complete the CFI exam will have a year of free access to continuing education material through the International Association of Interviewers (IAI). IAI is dedicated to ensuring professionals stay relevant in their careers as interviewers and interrogators. Visit www.certifiedinterviewer.com to learn more.
