Job Overview
The manager, business continuity, is responsible
for leading the development, implementation and
maintenance of comprehensive business continuity
and emergency management plans to ensure
critical business operations resume with minimal
interruption and loss during emergency or crisis
situations. This leader will establish and
maintain interactive communications with key
business leaders and all relevant local, state
and federal agencies in order to coordinate and
implement best crisis management practices and
site preparedness plans to ensure successful
emergency response and disaster recovery
efforts. The manager, business continuity, will
identify and integrate key performance metrics
to measure the effectiveness of the business
continuity program and will develop and
implement related training and awareness
programs throughout the organization.
Primary
Responsibilities
● Develop and implement business
continuity and crisis management
programs, including emergency
response, disaster recovery and site
preparedness plans, to minimize
business interruption in the event a
disaster or crisis situation occurs.

● Design and develop new and
existing program policies and
procedures; ensure recovery
procedures are effective for the
restoration of key resources and
critical business functions across
the organization. |
● Arrange and
conduct corporate contingency
planning meetings to ensure business
continuity and crisis management
programs are in alignment with
overall business objectives. |
● Indentify key performance
indicators to measure/evaluate
program effectiveness; establish
corrective action plans and
recommendations as necessary to
resolve program deficiencies. |
● Establish and maintain
interactive communications and solid
partnerships with relevant local,
state and federal regulatory and
emergency response agencies critical
to ensuring effective execution of
business continuity and crisis
management programs. |
● Collaborate with key business
leaders across the company to
identify critical business processes
and perform ongoing risk analysis
and impact assessments to determine
vulnerabilities; provide
recommendations for disaster
avoidance and risk reduction. |
● Manage general and specific
contingency issues with key
functional business leaders. |
● Work with internal audit and
legal departments to ensure programs
adhere to regulatory requirements;
govern compliance with relevant
laws, regulations, policies and
procedures. |
● Partner with IT leadership to
design contingency plans for data
backup and recovery; assist in the
development of data center
operations policies and emergency
data recovery procedures. |
● Monitor and maintain the
currency of business continuity and
crisis management plans across
business units to ensure
requirements are met to support
strategic program initiatives. |
● Coordinate and assist
recovery support team members across
business units to implement recovery
procedures and alternate operating
strategies during disaster/crisis
situations. |
● Manage the business continuity
budget; identify and forecast costs
associated with restoration of
business operations in the event a
disaster or crisis situation occurs.

● Design and implement business
continuity and crisis management
training and awareness programs for
all business areas throughout the
company; provide hands-on guidance
and support to each functional
group. |
● Establish business continuity
and crisis management program
testing methodologies; conduct
routine testing in all business
areas to ensure sufficient resources
are available and responses are in
accordance with established program
policies and procedures. |
● Lead, mentor, educate and
develop business continuity planning
team members; conduct performance
evaluations and career coaching,
oversee team activities and ensure
adherence to department, program and
company policies and procedures.

Minimum
Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree in business
administration, finance, computer
science or related field; or equivalent
work experience. |
● Five (5) years experience in the
design, development and maintenance of
business continuity and/or disaster
recovery plans. |
● Certified Business Continuity
Professional (CBCP) designation. |
● Demonstrated experience in IT
facilities management/data center
operations, specifically data backup and
recovery planning experience. |
● Possess a valid driver’s license
with a satisfactory driving record. |
● Ability to travel up to 25% of the
time, including overnight. |
● Compliance with all Winn-Dixie
policies and procedures. |
● Ability to read, write and speak
English proficiently. |
● Ability to understand and follow
English instructions. |
● Authorization to work in the
United States or the ability to obtain
the same. |
● Successful completion of
pre-employment drug testing and
background check. |

● Experience performing risk,
vulnerability and business impact

● Advanced knowledge of business
continuity and crisis management
techniques and technologies. |
● Advanced knowledge of computer
operating systems, networking, data
communication technology, security and
systems change control processes and IT
disaster recovery planning. |
● Demonstrated strong PC skills
including proficiency with the primary
Microsoft Office applications. |
● Ability to provide expert
leadership, guidance and constructive
feedback to team members. |
● Ability to manage and direct
multiple complex projects simultaneously
to drive solutions that meet or exceed
business expectations and deliver
project milestones on-time and within
budget. |
