ORC gang of 5 Portland gang members from "The Rollin 60's Crips" busted in Boise, Idaho may be involved in thefts in Nampa, Twin Falls, and Pocatello - The investigation is ongoing and may warrant follow-up by retailers Authorities say all five are being held in the Ada County Jail on a variety of burglary and grand theft charges. The suspects were nabbed stealing items late last week or caught helping others take merchandise valued at more than $5,000. Investigators say the suspects stole the goods with the intent of shipping them back to Portland. Officers say the five suspects have been implicated in a string of retail merchandise thefts throughout SW Idaho and Oregon. Stores targeted in the Boise market include national retailers or merchants located in outlet malls. They were busted at the Boise Factory Outlet. (Source therepublic.com) (source nwcn.com)

40th Fraudster in $2M ORC gang pleads guilty yesterday in Federal court. A Spartanburg, South Carolina woman is the last defendant and 40th to plead guilty in a scheme to steal nearly $2 million though check fraud. Authorities say the group recruited people to get fake IDs and open checking accounts. The recruits were taken shopping where checks were used to buy expensive items. Recruits were told to report their checkbooks stolen. The items were resold and the profits shared. Prosecutors say Church is the 40th person to enter a plea as part of the conspiracy operated by Hope Mitchell, who is now serving nearly five years in prison. (Source postandcourier.com)
