The Sr. Manager, Safety & Retail Environmental
Health (Non-Industrial) is responsible for developing,
implementing and managing comprehensive safety
programs designed to minimize the frequency and
severity of accidents, while complying with
applicable regulatory requirements. This leader
will act as a support resource and subject
matter expert for internal and external business
partners in matters relating to safety in all
parts of the business with primary emphasis in
stores. This individual will work cross
functionally with all business leaders in
supporting stores.
Primary Responsibilities:
● Develop innovative measurable
safety programs designed to minimize
customer and associate accidents in
stores and associated cost. |
● Perform budgeting, forecasting,
capital expenditure requests and
return on investment (ROI) models in
order to gain support in
implementing safety countermeasures. |

Recommend, update and
maintain the safety section of the
asset protection audit designed to
measure the effectiveness of
programs and draw correlations to
execution effectiveness. |
●
Develop and continuously
maintain all company reporting
metrics on accidents identify
problems/trends and make
recommendations for safety
countermeasures through the use of
fact-based information and analyses. |
●
Develop a risk analysis to
identify the top 10% of stores with
the highest frequency and severity
of accidents and make
recommendations to minimize
exposure. |
●
Manage safety performance
scorecards for the Asset Protection
and Operations departments,
including metric definitions and
period reports/dashboards on results
to plan. |
●
When called upon, defend the company
in civil litigation brought on by
plaintiffs’ attorneys and/or state
and federal agencies. |
●
Work with Legal and Risk Management
to develop and maintain a “defense
library” used to defend the company
in civil litigation. |
Minimum Qualifications:
●
Bachelor’s degree in Safety,
business administration or related
field; or equivalent combination of
education and experience. |
●
Seven (7) years work experience in
asset protection and/or workplace
safety. |
●
Demonstrated exceptional skill sets
and proficiency with Microsoft
Office applications, especially in
the area of excel. |
●
Ability to travel up to 20 % of the
time, including overnight stays. |
●
Proficient with informational data
bases with experience as a system
admin for managing complex
informational data base systems. |
●
Ability to manage and direct
multiple complex projects
simultaneously to drive solutions
that meet or exceed business
expectations and deliver project
milestones on-time and within
budget. |
●
Ability to interact and create
partnerships with all business
partners, including Operations Human
Resources, asset protection field
teams and regional and district
operation teams. |
