Tyco Retail Solutions
Top Retailers Continue to Deploy RFID Solutions from Tyco

Tyco Retail Solution’s RFID Inventory Intelligence Solutions Installed at More than 1,000 Stores

New York, NY – NRF Big Show 2013 Booth #2611 – January 14, 2012 – Tyco Retail Solutions (www.tycoretailsolutions.com), a leading global provider of retail performance and security solutions, continues to play a leading role in the market in retail RFID implementations. From tags to readers, software to professional services, Tyco Retail Solutions offers comprehensive RFID solutions to help top retailers turn technology innovation into tangible business value. Tyco’s RFID solutions are installed today at more than 1,000 retail stores, providing critical item-level data and insights at both the store and the enterprise level. The company is on track to double the number of store locations implementing RFID by fall 2013 based on deployments currently underway. To learn more about Tyco Retail Solutions innovative RFID applications visit Tyco at the 2013 NRF Big Show (booth #2611) or visit www.tycoretailsolutions.com.

Retailers are under intense pressure to grow revenues while managing the bottom line and providing customers with a better in-store experience. Real-time access to item-level data has become a critical component to achieve those objectives. Tyco’s RFID-based Inventory Intelligence solutions provide retailers with the insights they need to ensure inventory availability regardless of how the customer chooses to shop or receive goods. Retailers can gain visibility into inventory location across the enterprise to quickly and efficiently satisfy shopper demand.

IHL Group’s Greg Buzek stated in December of 2012, “One technology that is finally going mainstream is item-level RFID. One could argue that RFID is the key to doing cross-channel merchandising effectively. Without it shipping from stores is simply not reliable enough to trust. For many retailers, inventory accuracy is off by as much as 25%. RFID brings a promise of 95% to 97% inventory accuracy.” As demand steadily increases, Tyco is expecting to ship 750 million Sensormatic brand RFID tags (with the ability to be re-circulated) by the fall of 2013. During the same period, Sensormatic RFID device shipments are expected to grow over 250%.

“Industry experts and retailers agree the market for RFID has reached a tipping point. As the global standards and technology have evolved, pricing options have become more attractive and retailers are realizing RFID can deliver compelling benefits to the store and to the enterprise,” said Nancy Chisholm, vice president and general manager, Tyco Retail Solutions. “We have been at the forefront of RFID from the very start, helping pioneering retailers implement solutions that drive real-world value and performance. Our breadth of offerings and commitment to innovation has driven top retailers across the globe to partner with us for RFID and other retail performance solutions.”
