RCMP in Saskatchewan launch Fraud Awareness month.
The month of March will be focused on a five part
series by the RCMP to increase public awareness of
commercial crimes. RCMP Cpl. Hugh Gordon indicated that
$1.4 million was reported lost by victims last year to

CCTV and Police body cameras are a focus of Law
Enforcement in Canada.
The Police Department in Winsor is spending
$15,000 to equip each officer with not one, but two body
cameras for both the public’s safety as well as its
officers. The city of Toronto has nearly 100 cameras in
operation covering the downtown area.

Police believe Gypsy shoplifting gang is hitting retailers
from the North Shore, Laval, West Island to Montreal.
In the next few days, several Law Enforcement agencies
are working together to send more information and photos
of the suspected gang members. The group has been
responsible for the theft of over $2000 in perfume from
one retailer, hit small pharmacies and Walmart.

Coquitlam Mounties charge a man of over a dozen
robberies. Anthony Bakker is now facing
a total of 20 criminal charges, 12 robberies and
additional crimes in Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Pitt
Meadows, Maple Ridge, and Burnaby. Bakker is accused of
using a weapon in several of his convenience store
